Japanese Works of Art
Uchiwa (Fans)
The screen is decorated with fans, each with a different color of chrysanthemum flower. Since the flowers are painted in relief the whole scene is extremely decorative and easily appreciated by the viewer. The fans are hovering above waves and a wooden fence that seems to be protecting the whole image.
